Unique Learning at Upper Mount Gravatt Kindergarten
We place a great emphasis on building strong relationships with each child and nurturing their individual development through our play-based approach to learning.
At Upper Mt Gravatt Kindergarten we base our education program on the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline, developed by the Queensland Studies Authority. The Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) is a statutory body of the Queensland Government which provides Kindergarten to Year 12 syllabuses, guidelines, assessment, reporting, testing and certification services for Queensland schools.
The Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline aims to specifically enrich children’s learning in their Kindergarten year. This guideline aligns with the Federal government’s Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and embraces the inclusive vision that “all children experience learning that is engaging and builds success for life”.
It is with great pleasure that I recommend Upper Mt Gravatt Kindergarten. Our family has been overjoyed and so thankful for their services over the past 5 years. All three of our children have attended Upper Mt Gravatt Kindergarten and have loved every second of it.

My older daughter started kindergarten at UMG kindy in 2018 on the recommendation of a friend. I just cant begin to tell how fortunate we were to have found this wonderful place for our kids.I have seen my daughter thrive into this confident, independent and kind girl just because of the efforts that the staff here has put into her.

The reason I came to this Kindergarten is that I felt like my child was getting back to nature, could touch the grass, trees, play in mud, have a swing in a tree. It was an environment where my child could explore whilst taking safe risks – that was very important to me.

Our amazing natural play environment inspires a deeper dimension to children’s learning that cannot be substituted. The senses are engaged as soon as children enter the gates and their imagination is ignited as they explore trees, leaves and the sounds of native wildlife. There are multiple opportunities for children to be active, stimulated, creative, spontaneous and curious. Connections to land and nature are fostered and a sense of care and respect for our environment is nurtured through our outdoor curriculum and Bush Kindy Program.
